Lansing Avenue Baptist Chapel

What Should I Expect When I Visit?

As you enter the building and come up the stairs our ushers will welcome you, provide a bulletin for you, and allow you to pick whatever seat you'd like. There is a good chance that before you get to your seat multiple people will greet you with a smile and a handshake and possibly stop to visit with you for a few moments. We then invite you to engage in worshipping God and studying His Word with us.

A typical service is as follows:
10:00 Worship Music
10:15 Pastor Chris and the Box (Object lesson for children after which they
  go downstairs for Springboard.)
10:20 Announcements, Scripture Reading, and Offering
10:25 Worship Music
10:40 Sermon
11:10 Closing Song
11:15 Dismissal to Connection Cafe Downstairs
11:30 Christian Ed (discipleship classes for all different ages)
12:15 Dismissal

After the main service, we invite you to recieve a Gift Bag from Pastor Mark that we like to give to first time visitors. Inside you will find a church brochure, a mug and hot chocolate, a copy of the book The Case For Christ, and more. We also invite you to stop by the Connection Cafe for coffee, cookies, and a chance to visit and connect and then to go to a Christian Ed class. You should expect to feel very welcomed by numerous people and you will find that whatever age you are, there will be others in the church similar to you whom you'll enjoy meeting.

What Should I Wear?

At Lansing, we focus on the heart more than on the outward appearance. Those in attendance attempt to dress in a way that does not draw attention to themselves, because we want the focus to be on Jesus Christ alone.

When you come to our Sunday Service, you will find people dressed in a wide variety of styles from as casual as jeans to as formal as a suit and tie. Most people find themselves somewhere in the middle, just be sure to dress so that you will be relaxed and able to get the greatest possible impact from our service.
